Dental Benefits: Before the Year Ends

shutterstock_480798733With the coming of Fall, it becomes time to reflect that the end of the year is not as far as it once seemed. It’s the right moment to plan for the last few months of the year to make sure everything is taken care of, and your dental insurance is no exception. Most people have dental plans that last for the calendar year, with unused benefits running out come the first of January, which means that the money from 2016 that could be used to better your oral hygiene would quite simply expire.

It would be prudent to use these benefits while you have them, not only because it’s economical, but also because it gives you more opportunity to care for your oral health. To fully take advantage of any remaining benefits you might have, it’s best to begin booking appointments now and not at the last minute in December, as appointments will become harder to get as the end of the year draws near, and you might want to address something that requires multiple appointments.

The first step would be to familiarize yourself with how much money you have left on your plan this year which is allocated for dental. If you haven’t spent the full amount by the end of the year, that’s a waste of the money that you could’ve used on dental work. If you require treatment that you think will be more expensive than the money you have available, you could try to book the appointments for the very end of the year and into the new year. That way, you’ll be able to use whatever you have left on this year’s benefits, and also have access to the funds for next year’s insurance.

At the end of the day, it’s best to take care of any dental problems you might have as soon as possible, because the longer you put it off, the more chance that small problems will grow into larger ones. You’ll save money by seeing your dentist and taking care of plaque before it develops into more serious gum disease, which will require a more aggressive, and expensive, treatment than a simple cleaning.

In order to book an appointment before the end of the year, contact Elm Dental at 902-597-3831, or visit our website at http://www.elmdental.ca/ and request an appointment. We’re here to look out for your oral health, and make sure you get the best treatment for your money.

Back to work

After a long overdue vacation, we are all back and ready to go at it; refreshed, re-energized and all tanned up.

You know you work hard each and every day but you never truly realize it until you come back from a vacation. Our wonderful staff all went off to enjoy other provinces with their families this year.  Sherry and Carolyn went to Ontario and spent some long overdue visiting with family and friends.  So nice to see that happen every so often.  Family is always needed, and friends are always there too.  Plus, I have been hearing that their weather was a wee bit warmer than here!

Clare went off to Newfoundland to enjoy her family.  A wonderful daughter and new granddaughter (6 months old).  Lots of snuggles and walks and sightseeing.  A wonderful time.

While these are our travelers, Dr. Clarke and myself stayed here on the home front.  Dr. Clarke is settling down nicely in his new home that he and his wife bought here in our very own Springhill.

I spent the long weekend along the surf just across the New Brunswick border on the Northumberland Straight.  Fantastic beach, friends and relaxation.

Back and at it full force.  We are open and ready to go.

Smiles all around,

Crystal

We would like to welcome Dr. Gary Clarke to our team at Elm Dental

The renovations continue here at Elm Dental, we have added a new canopy to our main entrance and we are getting a ton of compliments on it! Can you believe that there are people in our area that didn’t even know we are right here on Main Street?  Now, you can definitely see us with the help of our new canopy!  We would like to welcome everyone to come, visit and have a tour of our office. We are really proud of it.

The New Elm Dental!

It’s exciting to see all of the new things happening in Springhill! We have just completed a major renovation of Elm Dental. Almost every inch of our office has been refreshed and we’ve purchased brand new state of the art equipment. The renovation was a lot of work, but for me the fun part came when I was able to help decide not only what colour the walls would be (Misty Valley, Winter Sky and Latte) but where to move the walls! We also picked out new flooring, selected furniture and even chose new art work.

Our main goal during the renovation was to work with local suppliers as much as possible. This is important to us as we want to invest in the future of Springhill. We used Halex Construction for the renovations, the graphics company was Larry Hunter Sign Design, and we used Acadian Printing in Amherst for our printing. Every supplier was efficient and it was a pleasure dealing with everyone mentioned.

The new artwork in our office is what I’m really excited to you about that! We’re thrilled to announce an arrangement with the local gallery Amherst Artisan Gallery. We will rent artwork from local artists that we will rotate on a 6 month basis to keep it fresh. Every time you come for your check up and cleaning you will have new artwork to view. Be sure to tell us which your favorite is!

Don’t take my word for it though, see for yourself at our Open House on Wednesday November 4th, 2015. You can meet the team, see the changes and have some goodies.
